Who's Minding the Store of Nature?

Who's minding the store of nature? That's easy, the store is minding itself -- no "Higher Powers" need apply.

But neither is nature "self controlling". My goodness, who or what would be controlling who or what? Let's face it, self control is a strictly human game and why would nature be imitating us?

But the "laws of nature" come in here someplace, don't they? Yes, but that doesn't mean they're "traffic signs" nature is compelled to obey. They're simply patterns, the patterns we can see and quasi understand. But it absolutely doesn't follow that nature MUST be acting in these or those ways. This is just the way it is, the way nature natures . . . at least for the moment.

And for that matter, who's minding the store of your life? Is there a higher power in there too? You know, that separate self ego/personality thing -- the agent, the doer, the thinker, etc.? Of course, we THINK there's a higher power in “my" life, otherwise I’d be running amuck and out of control ("out of control" -- what a juicy phrase!). I'd a mindless animal.

Well, for openers, animals aren't so mindless. And for that matter, neither are trees nor rocks since intelligence process seems to be omnipresent in nature.

But where is this all heading? What would life be like without Higher Powers, identity units, or self control. That's easy again. It'd be exactly the way it is.
